A four-hour GRE study week for working professionals in Dubai
A workable study week needs room for learning, practice and review. Four available hours are more useful when assigned realistic tasks than when a calendar labels a short evening session “full mock”. The following is an example to adapt, not a required workload or a promise of readiness.
A sample four-hour week
- Monday, 45 minutes: Quant concept work and a few applications.
- Tuesday, 45 minutes: Verbal questions with evidence-based answer review.
- Thursday, 30 minutes: delayed retries and vocabulary review drawn from earlier errors.
- Saturday, 60 minutes: a 30-minute Issue response followed by review.
- Sunday, 60 minutes: mixed Quant and Verbal practice, review and next-week planning.
The total is 240 minutes. Move the days to fit your work pattern and change the balance according to your baseline. Being a working professional does not establish that Quant is already strong or that Verbal must be the bottleneck.
A full practice test needs another arrangement
The current GRE takes approximately 1 hour 58 minutes. A 90-minute slot is not a full current-format simulation. In a test week, replace some ordinary sessions with a longer uninterrupted block and reserve separate review time.

Make short sessions specific
For Text Completion, distinguish not knowing a word from missing the sentence’s contrast or cause. For Quant, record the first wrong step rather than simply “careless”. For writing, review the support for your position and the organisation of the response.
Use a fresh question or a delayed retry to decide whether a correction is holding. If meetings displace a session, move its task deliberately instead of doubling every later session.
