SAT prep in Abu Dhabi: use the correct module timing
Accurate timing matters when you simulate the digital SAT. Confusing the number of questions with the minutes available creates a practice session that does not match the exam.
The actual module lengths
College Board lists 54 Reading and Writing questions across two 32-minute modules, followed by a 10-minute break and 44 Math questions across two 35-minute modules. There are 2 hours 14 minutes of testing time, excluding the break.
The first module of each section contains a mix of difficulties. Your performance determines a higher- or lower-difficulty second module. This does not mean the second module contains only one difficulty level.
Do not turn a route into a predicted score
Each section is scored from 200 to 800, with a combined total of 400 to 1600. The scoring process uses the characteristics of the questions and response pattern; a fixed number of errors does not supply a universal score conversion.
Review a first-module mistake because it reveals a skill or process to improve, rather than assigning it an invented number of lost points.
A practical preparation sequence
- Use an official Bluebook practice test as a baseline.
- Identify a small number of recurring weaknesses.
- Practise those skills untimed with full explanations.
- Use mixed timed work to check method selection and pacing.
